Awesome once in a lifetime experience

I had the time of my life in Ghana. Away2Africa did a wonderful job planning a full itinerary for me to fully enjoy what Ghana had to offer. My tour guide, Nene, was like my best friend the entire time, he really looked out to make sure I wasn't being taken advantage of in the marketplace etc. and was very punctual. I highly recommend this program for anyone who wants to explore what Africa have to offer while still feeling coordinated, accounted for, and safe.

This was a quick weekend trip on our way to NY from Ghana. It was time well spent and we will definitely be back. A2A arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport and drive us to Marrakech, It is really nice to land in a foreign country and have someone waiting with your name on a sign. I am so thankful A2A booked a riad for us; not understanding the medina and the small alleyways, I couldn't do it on my own. It was definitely different than a typical hotel room. The overall design and layout of an inner courtyard with rooms around it was beautiful. Abdul, the all around staff member was very patient as he explained their money. He served a typical Moroccan breakfast prepared for us. It was very good. The weather was oppressively HOT in Marrakech but for Casablanca, being by the Atlantic ocean made it perfect. The tour guides and driver for both cities were very knowledgeable and personable.

We had a great time! Wonderful people; the tours were exciting and adventurous! food was different and delicious! Accommodations were great, including tents at the camps! This was my first time "camping" and I was very surprised at how comfortable and fully equipped they were. Our guide and driver, Hillary, ensured we had an unforgettable experience traveling through the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. Even though we did not see two of the Big Five, we saw so many exciting animals in their natural habitat. Saida showed us a wonderful time in Zanzibar!! The day on the catamaran was a nice treat and the chef prepared meal was sooo delicious! We all had seconds! The spice farm was very interesting and informative! Good flight to Ghana except those of us who flew business class were disappointed with Kenya Airways. The food was not very appetizing. Even though passengers in economy class had TV monitors/viewing screens, we had none in business class! Thoroughly enjoyed our brief layover visit to the Giraffe Conservatory. My once-in-a-lifetime hike on Mt. Kilimanjaro was more than I could have imagined! Ghana was everything I had heard and more! Rashida was an excellent guide and host! She went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had a memorable experience! I enjoyed everything from the sights around the city, Cape Castle, the Naming ceremony, etc! All of our guides/hosts were the best of the best and I would highly recommend them for any future adventures! Thank you Tiffany and your entire Away to Africa team!! You provided a lifetime of memories! Thank you! Thank you! Regarding payments to We Travel, I collect miles and points for travel, and was disappointed to learn that We Travel does not code as a travel agency for miles and points via Chase or American Express credit cards. Would be great if you could make that possible.

I can book a flight. I can book a hotel. But I could have never found and partnered with the extraordinary local guides who elevated this trip far beyond a wonderful birthday vacation into an absolutely soul-stirring, emotional experience—one only made possible through Tiffanie Anderson and Away To Africa. She and her team created a customized trip that blended adventure, culture, and personal meaning into something I will treasure for the rest of my life. The level of details that went into the planning was impressive by itself during multiple planning Zoom calls; they executed as planned. Every single tour guide and operator we encountered were outstanding! The safari, the Kilimanjaro hike, the catamaran in the beautiful waters of Zanzibar, the organic spice farm, the cooking, the batik cloth making, Cape Coast Castle, the naming ceremony—even the oppressive heat of Morocco in August—are just some of the experiences that made this trip extraordinary. The one stand out experience however, that made this trip the trip of a lifetime for me, was being greeted and welcomed with song and dance by the Maasai. As a little 8 year old girl watching National Geographic on tv, I saw the Maasai tribe for the first time. I remember being completely mesmerized by their colorful clothes and dance. Never could I have imagined that I would one day be greeted by them with song and dance let alone them singing happy birthday to me! That was a moment I will carry with me forever. I will definitely have Away to Africa plan all of my future trips to Afica. I highly recommend them.
