Arrive in Dakar – Senegal’s Capital

Traveling to the Motherland with Away to Africa was a truly special and deeply enjoyable experience. From the moment we arrived in Ghana, I was touched by the warmth and richness of the Ghanaian people and culture. Visiting Cape Coast, the historical slave castle, was a profound and sobering moment that I will carry with me forever. It's the kind of experience that shifts something deep inside you. And then there was South Africa! With Cape Town I keep telling everyone, "it's like God spent a little more time there." The scenery, the energy, the beauty around every corner. It was simply stunning. Johannesburg also had its own incredible spirit, rich with culture and vibrancy that surprised and captivated me. The Away to Africa team were a pleasure to work with and made sure our group was taken care of throughout the journey. Our tour guides were especially wonderful, knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely committed to giving us an authentic experience. If you're considering this trip, don't hesitate. Africa will stay with you long after you return home. I'm so grateful I said yes to this journey, and I can't wait to go back.

The trip was amazing- packed with many great memorable experiences. Highlights include the art tours, news years eve celebration, Table Mountain, apartheid museum, winery, Game reserve and naming ceremony. We enjoyed the tour guides, especially those in Ghana and Johannesburg. Tiffanee poured her heart into planning every aspect of the trip. Our travel group was fantastic. This was a trip to remember.
